Discuss health care sector activities in the application of advanced analytics, which address our nation’s goals of enhanced outcomes, reduced costs, and improved population health. An overview of the evolution of big data from the sciences and technology fields into the health care sector, as well as the current status of U.S. health care, both in the context of comparisons to other countries and in the context of our own national budgetary issues are examined. Specific examples of the use of data analytics are utilized based on our own experiences as health care advisors and consultants.
